After serving on the executive cabinet for Agape Music Festival (a.k.a. AgapeFest) for four years as a student at Greenville College, Robyn spent almost ten years in the midst of Nashville’s Christian music industry, working with artists, concerts, conferences and special events, including Christian music benefit concerts for Aids Crisis and Christians Today (ACCT), organized by CCM artist, Steve Camp, and speaker/author, Tony Campolo.
During her last two years in Nashville, Robyn worked amidst the Tennessee film, television and video community, promoting the professionals and projects in the region, coordinating a series of televised craft segments for the NBC affiliate and making a few rare appearances on the other side of the camera in commercial and music video projects.
After returning to Greenville College in 1997, Robyn served in various marketing roles, overseeing both traditional and digital media communication initiatives. In this role, Robyn often partnered with Greenville College’s nationally-recognized Contemporary Christian Music program, producing concerts and music seminars that welcomed CCM industry professionals Matthew West, Stephanie Smith, Fireflight, Remedy Drive, Abandon, Jadon Lavik and Mark Roach, as well as a weekend songwriting workshop featuring publishing and songwriting professionals from the country music industry.
In 2008, past met with present as Robyn acquired the responsibilities of marketing advisor for AgapeFest. While in this role, Robyn’s further realized her passion for the ministry of Christian media, while establishing relationships with booking agents, managers, artists, sponsors and Christian radio.
With the incorporation of Hope Shows as a nonprofit organization in the fall of 2009, Robyn answered God’s call to produce opportunities that advance the hope of the gospel as presented in Christian music and other Christ-centered media. In partnership with agents, managers, artists and radio, Hope Shows produced their first prison concert at Lincoln Correctional Center, a medium-security facility in Lincoln, IL. New prison events, benefit concerts, speaking engagements and resource development are in the works for 2010.
Through her blog, Songbird Soundtrack, Robyn expresses her thoughts about Christian music, film and books … specifically the projects that bring hope when life most needs it. Songbird Soundtrack allows Robyn a safe place to sing the songs God gives her to share.
Robyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Education at Greenville College and a master’s degree in Communication at Regent University. She has served in public relations and marketing roles with nonprofit/ministry-oriented organizations for over twenty years. Robyn is the mother to three high school and college-aged men who keep life rockin’ around the clock.
